I currently work as a Cybersecurity Manager at a manufacturing company. Here I lead a small team to help protect the financial, proprietary information, and day-to-day business processes from cyber crime. During my time as a cybersecurity professional, I have had the privilege to gain valuable experience across many domains of IT and cybersecurity.

For my final project in my Bachelor's degree (2021), I was tasked with essentially creating an entire cybersecurity program plus some. My final project outlined designing It infrastructure, network topologies, cybersecurity policies and procedures, conducting risk assessments, business impact analysis, incident response plan, and disaster recovery plan. If I were asked to complete this today, it would look totally different. But this is where I started. (Downloadable pdf coming soon.)

I started my study journey in November of 2021. I knew that I wanted, really, NEEDED to get my Security+ certification. I bought two books to read, linked below. And started watching Professor Messor's free YouTube series and purchased his study notes.
As the holidays rolled around, I got distracted and unfortunately felt like I had to restart. So in January of 2022 I revived my efforts to become Security+ certified.
I scheduled my test date for April 1st 2022. I am not an inherently good test taker. I did a lot of studying not only about the content of the test, but also HOW to take the test. I did pass my SY0-601 CompTIA Security+ on April 1st 2022.
